The Battle of Hackham Heath

The peace in Araluen is under threat and newly crowned King Duncan must prepare for war. Morgarath is in hiding, recruiting an army of savage beasts known as Wargals for his next attack.
Halt prepares for a seemingly impossible task – to scale the Mountains of Rain and Night to spy on the enemy and uncover their plans.
He knows that one wrong move could be deadly, for at the Battle of Hackham Heath the fate of a kingdom will be decided.

The second book of the Ranger’s Apprentice: Early Years!!! It did not disappoint. If you can’t guess, The Early Years, is about Halt. He is the one who teaches Will, in Ranger’s Apprentice. Halt is also one of my favorite characters in the series!

It was so fun to read Halt’s story before Will came into his life. The Tournament of Gorlan, the first book in the Early Years series, is also really good. I will have to review that one sometime soon! Both of these books are really cool to read, especially if you have already read Ranger’s Apprentice.

But, honestly, I would recommend anything written by John Flanagan. He is one of my all-time favorite authors. If you haven’t (at least) read the first book of Ranger’s Apprentice, do so right now! Go to the library and check it out!

The cover is cool. It is pretty much like the rest of the series’ covers—simple but intriguing! I am going to give it 4 stars.

Can you guess what rating I am going to give this book? 5 stars! I don’t know if you can tell, but I really, really love Ranger’s Apprentice—every single book!! If it became a movie/TV series, I would be the first in line at the premiere!
