If the Magic Fits

Inside an enchanted castle, there’s a closet—a closet with one hundred dresses that nobody ever wears. Dresses like those need a good trying-on, and Darling Dimple is just the girl to do it. When she tries on Dress Number Eleven, something unbelievable happens. She transforms into the castle’s Head Scrubber! It turns out that each dress can disguise her as someone else. And Darling is about to have an adventure that calls for a disguise or two…or a hundred.

If the Magic Fits

Okay, so even though I am a teenage girl, half way through high school, I still like to read juvenile books occasionally. Don’t judge. I used to like books likes these—fantasies. They were practically all I read a few years ago. And, by the way, I still like fantasies!

So, when I read the back cover of this book, I decided to give it a try! The biggest reason that I decided to read this book was the sentence review on the front cover. It was written by Jessica Day George. Her books were my favorite—some of them still are too!

The plot was really fun. Any kid who likes magic, dresses, and a bit of a mystery, will definitely enjoy this book. I would say that this book is written for older elementary students.

The one thing that I really wanted to happen was for Darling to try on Dress Number One Hundred. (Sorry if you think that was a spoiler!) But I have seen another book in this series, 100 Dresses, that will be coming out soon. I will most likely have to read it just so I can see what Dress Number One Hundred is!

The cover immediately sets the tone of the book—dresses galore, a princess, a bird, and a servant girl. I will give it 4 stars.

I can’t say that I enjoyed this book as much as I would have when I was younger. But it is a good juvenile read. I will give it 4 stars.

Now…for the question of the day…if you could try on any outfit and you could become that person, what outfit would you choose?
